We were one of those affected by the Typhoon since we live in the hardest hit city, Marikina. I think there are a lot of lessons to learn from it: that we should take care of the environment, take care of each other as brothers and sisters, and live modestly because all those material things can be easily wiped out in just a few minutes when mother nature gets back on us. Save, save, save! Our emergency fund helped a lot in getting us across after that disaster. If we hadn’t saved at all, we would have ended up begging for financial help. And let’s not forget to strengthen our relationship with God.We never know when our “time” will come.

Feron, it’s amazing what mother nature can do. We also learned lots of lessons from Hurricane Katrina which hit Biloxi and New Orleans. We were not prepared at all and are still struggling to get back to normal even years afterwards.
