Are you aware that YouTube is celebrating it’s 5th Birthday, TODAY?

Yes, five years ago when friends Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim then working for Paypal founded You Tube.

And it was on April 23, 2005 that the first video was uploaded with Jawed Karim  starring in “Me at the Zoo” which was shot at the San Diego Zoo. To date this nineteen seconder video was viewed by 1,621,585 times.

The company was sold to Google in October 2006 for $1.65 billion.

On October 2006 Google acquired it for $1.65 billion and now would you believed that it is serving more than 1 billion videos per day? Yes it is.

The Google-owned video-sharing site… YouTube through its product manager Shenaz Zack said that it would help the creators of viral videos to earn out of their effort.

When the uploaded video becomes viral and eligible the owner will receive an email and  a note that would appear next to the video that it’s (more…)
